Fluid Sky

Fluid Sky

90 x 90 cm Acrylic on Canvas 2024

Movement becomes color as waves capture and reflect the shifting moods of the Australian sky. In this dynamic composition, Karin's brushwork follows the powerful flow of water in motion—broad, sweeping strokes that mirror the energy of surf meeting stone along the coastline.

The painting offers a dual perspective: perhaps viewed from beneath the surface looking up toward light, or from within the wave itself as it gathers sky-reflected hues of orange and coral against the deeper blues and greens of the ocean. Each gestural mark traces the path of water as it moves, breaks, and reforms, creating a sense of perpetual motion that draws the viewer into the rhythm of the sea.

The interplay between the warm tones of reflected sky and the cool depths of the water creates a visual dialogue between above and below, capturing that fleeting moment when the ocean becomes a canvas for the heavens, transforming the familiar seascape into something both immediate and eternal.
